In Saint-Irénée, along the shores of the St. Lawrence River, the cultural and geological heritage of Charlevoix form an amazing duo! At low tide, you will first be guided to the installations of a traditional fascine fishing technique, where you can see the fishermen in action and learn more about this fishing method. One of only two remaining installations of its kind in Quebec!
Next, about 800 meters from the fascine fishing site, you will have the opportunity to better understand the region’s tumultuous past on an exceptional geosite, accessible only through this activity. A true privilege to seize!
Activity schedule:
- Welcome of participants at the Pêcheries Charlevoix parking lot, in Saint-Irénée.
- Explanation of the activity, verification of equipment and eligibility of all participants.
- The approach journey will be with the guides, in their vehicle.
The excursion begins!!
In case of heavy rain, the activity will be canceled, and you will be notified by email. Activities will not be canceled if there is a chance of showers.
REQUIRED CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATION AND WARNING:
- This excursion requires good physical fitness.
- This excursion is reserved for those aged 8 and above.
- This excursion is not suitable for individuals with mobility issues, balance problems, vision difficulties, fragile ankles, etc.
- All participants must wear appropriate footwear, bring water, and a snack.
We reserve the right to refuse participation to anyone whose age, physical condition, or inadequate equipment may compromise their own safety and, indirectly, the safety of the group.
Duration of the guided hike:The 3-hour excursion covers approximately 2 km, round trip, on rugged terrain.
Schedule: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from June 24 to August 9, 2024.
