In La Malbaie, along the shores of the St. Lawrence River, a landscape shaped by Charlevoix’s tumultuous geological past awaits you. Thirteen different rock outcrops will be explored during a guided excursion set in a magical and incredibly peaceful setting. It’s the perfect opportunity to better understand the region’s history—and experience it firsthand!

Activity Schedule:

  1. Welcome of participants at Le Pélican Park
  2. Overview of the activity, equipment check, and participant eligibility verification
  3. To allow you to retrieve your car directly at the end of the excursion, each driver will follow the guide’s vehicle to the end point before the activity begins
  4. The excursion begins!!

In case of heavy rain, the activity will be canceled and you will be notified by email. Activities will not be canceled if only light showers are expected..

REQUIRED CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATION AND WARNING:

The excursion lasts about 3 hours, and the walk along the river is approximately 4 km on often rugged terrain, including a mix of rock outcrops, beaches, and stony shores. The end of the excursion involves a forest trail about 450 m long with a positive elevation gain of 70 m.

  • This excursion requires good physical fitness.
  • This excursion is reserved for individuals aged 8 and above.
  • This excursion is not suitable for people with mobility issues, balance problems, vision difficulties, fragile ankles, etc.
  • All participants must wear appropriate footwear, bring water, and a snack.

We reserve the right to refuse participation to anyone whose age, physical condition, or inadequate equipment may compromise their own safety and, indirectly, the safety of the group

Duration of the visit: A 4 km long excursion. Rugged terrain. Final: steep climb with a +70 m elevation gain.

Schedule: Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays in the summer, either in the morning (9:00 AM to 12:30 PM) or in the afternoon (1:00 PM to 4:30 PM), depending on the tides.

Price for 14 years and older: $20 + taxes
Price for 8 to 13 years old: $13 + taxes

Minimum age: 8 years old

For English groups, a minimum of 5 participants is required.
